In this video, we introduce you to Dr. Starane Shepherd and Dr. David Long.Â
Starane and David started their real estate investing with a house hack. If you don't know about house hacking, it's a great way to jump-start your real estate portfolio, especially when you are early in your training and have limited funds.Â
From there, they quickly grew their portfolio to 10 long-term rental doors. Despite their success with long-term rentals, they were drawn to short-term rentals primarily because of the tax benefits as they are both full time W2 employees.
This turned out to be a good move because this is where they're real estate journey really took off. Using design, they transformed their short-term rentals to stand head and shoulders above the competition, to where they set an entirely new standard. As a result, their short-term rentals are far surpassing their initial cashflow estimates.
